Anne and Jenn's Excellent Adventure
So I argue that even though it's finals week, it is still possilbe to have a really great day. Take my and Anne's day today for instance. So we decided to get out of the room and go study so we would actually get something done. We decide to go to the Student Center. But we didn't want to just walk there. So we rode our skooters! That adds 100% more fun right there! teehee. After getting there in half the time it would have taken to walk there, we actually concentrate on studying for finals for several hours. It was awesome. Then around 3:30 we were hungry and I from a completely random memory (of math contest trips!) decide that we should go to Arby's. So we ride our skooters through the tunnel under the interstate to get over to Arby's and we eat really good food. Then we head over to Barnes and Noble/Starbucks so we can study there. We find a comfy little spot in Starbucks and get back to our studying (which went really well again). Then I wanted coffee and it turns out it's student appreciation week so I got 20% off the price of my coffee! It was pretty sweet. At 6 the place was closing so we packed up to go. I always forget my camera at the worst times. I say this because on our way back the sky had this amazing dark blue/turquoise kinda color that looked like a tropical sea or something and it was gorgeous. I can say it took my breath away. And as we our riding our skooters downhill most of the way back to the dorm we also realize that there was a great view of the skyline as well. Oh well. We still had fun riding our skooters back. We also had some great conversation. Earlier Anne had mentioned how it felt kinda like we were inner city kids. So later I said "Yeah it really does feel like we're inner kity cids... I mean... oops...." Also:
Anne-"We're pretty much the coolest people in the world."
Me-"Hey you ever take that skooter off some sweet jumps?"
We also name our skooters. Mine's name is Buckminster (Bucky for short). And hers is Bronsted.
And that concludes this installment of Anne and Jenn's Excellent Adventure. Stay tuned for more awesomeness coming soon.

Are you satisfied with your juice today?
So I was eating breakfast in the dining hall with my roomate this morning, as usual, and this girl we don't know comes up to us. She asks us if we would like to fill out a survey about juice. Yes, a survey about juice. Orange, grape, pineapple, you name it. We hesistantly started to say yes. Then she added in that we would get $5 for doing it. The hesistant yes quickly changed into a heck yes. So I filled out the strangest survey ever. And then I got $5 (and I didn't even have to add that in to make the story good).
Also, today in genetics we were talking about how the frequency of Down's Syndrome is affected by the age of the mother. We were looking at a graph for it and I noticed that the youngest age listed on there was 20 years old. It was kind of odd to think that I am of "mothering age" now. Hmmm... kind of scary.

Yay!
Hooray! Today is my birthday! And I'm not a teenager anymore. Teehee. Yes I am 20 years old now. But I don't feel any different. That's ok. I had a fun birthday weekend. My family and my boyfriend came up. We went to the football game yesterday (go Jackets!!). And we did shopping and stuff. It was fun. I got an mp3 player for a present. And as I was trying it out, I realized that now I'm gonna be walking around campus listening to music and I'm gonna start dancing or moving to the music or something without even thinking about it. So if anyone sees me strutting down the street, I'm probably listening to "Stayin Alive." haha. So, fun stuff. One more year til I can buy alcohol... heh. Anyways, yay for birthdays! :-)

BOO!
Well even though Halloween isn't actually until tomorrow (technically today since it's after midnight now, so Happy Halloween everybody!), the fun Halloween weekend is over. No trick-or-treating for us big kids... although our CA has promised us candy which is happy. But I did have an awesome weekend. First and foremost, my boyfriend was here :-) So Friday night we had costume coffee house at WCF, which was fun. I was a mime. I didn't talk the entire time (well maybe a couple times but only out of necessity). It was fun putting on the makeup. Then after that we went to the Rocky Horror Show, which is always an experience. I didn't have a killer headache this time so I enjoyed it much more this year. Then Saturday was the homecoming game against Clemson. But that wasn't as exciting as it probably should have been. I only stayed for a quarter and a half. It wasn't very eventful (but we won!) So after that David and I went to Borders because I was in one of those "I wanna hang around a bookstore" kind of moods, which is fun. But I wasn't allowing myself to buy anything except for chapstick (hehe I was out of burt's bees). Then we went grocery shopping and bought frozen pizza for dinner. Then David, Kristin, and I went to visit some of our frat buddies for a while. Then it was time for sleep. Then today, completely forgetting about daylight savings time, David and I wanted to go to Waho before my last salsa class. But thinking it was 1:00, we thought we didn't have enough time. So we picked up Dunkin Doughnuts then went to my salsa lesson. Us and one other couple that's in my class just sat there for like 15 minutes wondering where everyone was when we finally realized we were an hour early because we forgot about daylight savings. Ha...ha.... So after my salsa lesson at the real 2:00, I had the urge to go to Toys-R-Us. So we did. And it was a jolly grand time. Then we went to eat Mexican for dinner (yum!). And that's about all the excitment of my weekend. And my birthday is in one week! And then I want it to be Christmas.... :-)

So I'm sitting in the hall of the physics building right now waiting for my econ class to start (yes my econ class is in the physics building). And I'm really bored. Luckily I brought my computer today. But anyways, all of a sudden a bunch of guys walk in wearing togas. Multi-colored togas. It was insane. And totally random. I guess it's some frat thing. But yeah. It's really weird. Yesterday I saw this guy who walked like a girl. Kinda like a model. A girl model. It was freaky. Anyways. This probably isn't that exciting. So I'm gonna find something better to do with my time. Bye. :-D

bringing out the inner rock star
I saw Weezer and the Foo Fighters last night and it was AWESOME!!! I haven't been to many concerts but I must say it was the best one I've been to. It was quite excellent. We had pretty good seats too. The only bad part was the group of excessive smokers sitting in front of me cutting off my oxygen supply. Weezer was my favorite and they had super cool lighting. And now I get to go to Six Flags tonight. And the first football game is tomorrow. Fun stuff for me!!

cake or death!
As it turns out I don't have chem lab tomorrow. I don't know what I was thinking. I was totally freaking out about it for no good reason. Oh well. One of my roommates got me sick. Like, cough cough sniff sniff. Yeah, that kind. So if anyone would like to donate tissues to me I would be exceedingly thankful. I had Dairy Queen for dinner. It was awesome. Especially the fries in the country gravy... sooooooo bad for me yet soooooo good. I also noticed that the Dairy Queen on North Ave. is right next to the Burger King. So maybe they rule the fast food kingdom together or something. That would be pretty spiffy. I wonder if there are some upcoming fast food chains with "prince" or "princess" in them. I'm going to the Foo Fighters/Weezer concert on Thur. It's going to be frigin sweet. The weather is really really nice right now. I wish I could go to the park and frolic instead of doing stinky homework. Speaking of stinky... my roomie Anne, the same one who got me sick, has this beta named stinky and he tried to bite me earlier. All of her pets like to try to eat me. Her cat tried to eat me while I was asleep once. And her feret tried to eat my shoes. I'm nice to all of them so I don't know what their problems are. Anywho, I'm gonna get to work now. Maybe. Later gators.

Well I finished my first week back at school. It wasn't too bad, but then the labs haven't started yet. So that could change everything. My chem prof lectures with his eyes closed most of the time. It's kind of odd, but maybe he's nervous or something. The seats in genetics are too comfy so I hope I don't fall asleep in there. My econ prof and my book are super cheesy, but I guess that's good... sorta. And my cs prof reminds me of teachers from high school. So yeah. Fun stuff. Ummmm I dunno what else to talk about. I just thought I should put a new post up. yay.

yeah i'm cool, you know it...
My home computer is sooooooo stupid. That's why I hardly ever go on the computer now. But now I'm on my boyfriend's computer, and it's a lot cooler. hehe. Summer is kinda boring. At least when you're stuck in Augusta with not a lot of money it is. Soooo I dunno what else to say. Cause there's nothing going on. I just felt obligated to post something since it's been a while. So maybe I'll have something better to say some other time. But until then, adios!

It's black.......... like my soul!
You ever have one of those days where you feel like dressing in all black, and being like "I hate the world," and wishing you could just look at people and they would be a little scared of you? That's how I felt today.
Today I got done with what was probably my easy final exam. It was biology. But I don't wish to jinx it so I'm gonna stop talking about it. Tomorrow I have my Calculus 2 final, also known as "THE STINKY ARMPITS OF DESPAIR EPISODE I: REVENGE OF THE CALCULUS." And if you're wondering, EPISODE II will ocurr on Wednesday when I have to write my 10 page paper. Care packages and words of encouragement are appreciated. But I will get a brief period of festivities tomorrow night. First of all, I'm going to wear awesome pajamas tomorrow, so I will be oh so spiffy looking. Then, I'm one of the planners of Study Breakers tomorrow night at WCF. We will be watching "Lilo and Stitch" and "Cool Runnings." We will also be making, ::gasp!::, funnel cake! I'm super excited.
So now that I've thoroughly hyperbolized everything, I'm gonna eat some junk food and find a new way to avoid studying.
P.S. Kudos to suzan enthusin for introducing the phrase "black like my soul" into my vocabulary. I've finally found an ocassion to use it to it's full potential.

The Seven Day Time Period Devoted to Those Without Life
It is day 3 of Dead Week. 1 calculus recitation, 1 biology lecture, 2 finals, and a 10 page research paper stand in the way between me and my beloved summertime. And though it'll probably happen very quickly in actuality, I feel like I'm not making the most of my time. I had this fabulous study schedule written out for this week and I've hardly been following it at all. Where's has all my motivation gone? How I long to frolic in the sun, across the green fields, blowing bubbles, running through the sprinklers in my swimsuit, trying to catch the frisbee, eating juicy watermellon, and spitting the seeds at people... all at the same time. And since I have now wasted another 30 minutes on this computer I think it might just be time to start trying to be productive.
HA!
HA!

cherry coke is yummy
I wanted a smoothie for my reward, but I had to settle for a cherry coke instead (which is really good still). What am I being rewarded for you ask? I got a 100 on my calculus test!!! I am now a bonafide genii... not really, but I feel really smart. I stayed up til 2 last night writing an essay, which turned out to be pretty good. Now today I have to write a detailed outline for another essay. And by detailed outline my prof probably means rough draft. But that's not gonna happen. So at one point today I was reminded of a bunch of songs from the early 90's when I was little that were really awesome so I decided to download a bunch of them. I'd forgotten how great they really are. I mean, Ace of Base, Selena, TLC, and Take That... what can get better than that?!

I painted my toesies and they're pretty
So me and my friends Kristin and Anne are living together next year, then there's gonna be this random new fourth girl too, and we get to find out who she is today. It's kinda exciting. I hope we don't scare her too much. :-) I think I'm getting sick and my friend Judson suggested to me to drink hot tea and so I did and now I'm getting addicted. There's a disc of mold growing in my jug of apple juice. It's quite disgusting, yet I am intrigued by it. Such is the nature of a biology major. http://www.limecat.net/ you must go to this website. Or else you are not my friend. Now go forth and be prosperous.

nostalgia is a fabulous thing...
So I was sitting on my bed in my room reading my book for english, like ya do, when I hear some faint music coming from outside. As it gets closer, I recognize it to be "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." Then I realized, it was an ice cream truck!! My only regret is that I didn't get to run outside and get some ice cream myself. I think all colleges should circulate ice cream trucks around the campus. It would make students happier.

Happy Pi Day!!!
It's Pi Day, yay!!!!!!! I always loved pi day in school cause we got to eat food and do fun extra credit stuff in math class. I guess I'll have to have my own celebration this year (I don't think my Calc professor would be up to it). So I was looking around at the Pi Day websites and this one dude decided to memorize Pi by associating each digit with a different word or something like that. So here're a sample of what he did for the 2nd 500 digits:
honeybee, foam, mush, commie, Magi, hanger, rice, jail, judge, worm, salve, cheese, net, map, herb, roach, ump, lion, wiener, gum, kite, hippies, gauze, ant, cube, fish, subway, harem, eggs, eunuch, keys, limo, penny, Tokyo, Twiggy, Eugene, palm, attic, chalk, helen, move, arch, crow, heavyweight, fire, shake, ouch-ouch, bear, sail, thumb, noose, seesaw, leach, Fiat, hankie, diarehea, hellion, jam, algae, sci-fi, nuke, cave, Luke, ghetto, mayor, Inca, leek, calf, beach, wasp, tag, mesh, mica, tack, Vogue, window, orgy, pharaoh, Warsaw, bees, dune, hangar, pillow, mower, maze, tower, Jello, ruby, wolf, lamb, agate, soil, sequoia, bong, yankee, patch, VP, nail, heavy-hippo, gnome, lawyer, news, Ethiopia, ballet, jet, Taiwan, tongue, peas, hand, peach, sieve, gyro, zoom, wirer, tofu, towel, beehive, dime, Jane, pig, quarry, kayak, Adam, spa, bush, weasel, Dave, wax, queen, teddy, mohair, baby, bib, papaya, half-a-ham, can, bike, Visa, Arab, bowl, weeds, elbow, comma, dough, game, knife, tissue, sap, Jim, dove, whale, peel, sauna, warrior, lab, rail, lime, rash, boss, view-home, swing, choir, knoll, nun, moose, van, helium, Mary, rye, chief, lasso, mail, Hunch, tuba, moth, toffee, Eve, twig, outhouse, toes, Zeus, moat, mike, wavy-hem, fig, Halloween, fife, chili, fake, wall, memo, NASA, UFO, May-wave, deer, gneiss, sheet, coat, cookie, GI-Joe, hobbit, reggae, mace, mule, buffet, Noel, yam, rabbi, Zorro, navy, eagle, lorry, chef, wigwam, dude, Libya, ledge, knave, chamois, heavy-oaf, name, hole, mug, evacuee, wallabee, amigo, wallet, pail, coke, photo, waffle, cock, office, Hell, Moon, head, gate, onion, Jif, switch, judo, mesa, acid, bean, coffee, cashew, shoe, tattoo, yacht, apple, boa, hose, pin, DJ, ring, seed, pave

::sniffle, sniffle::
Once again I watched the movie The Notebook, and once again I cried my eyes out. That has got to be one of the greatest movies. Having watched that makes me have to do this: I LOVE DAVID REIMCHE!!! I miss my boyfriend. But I'll get to see him soon because there's only one more week until Spring Break! I'm sooo excited. And I just can't hide it. teehee. I'm not doing anything big over the break. I get to spend 2 days at MCG (Medical College of Georgia) and hang around labs to see what they do and help out and stuff. So that should be fun. I'm gonna go roller skating because I haven't done that in forever and it's a lot of fun. But of course I have to make it through this week first. It shouldn't be too bad. I have a biology test Monday (I still have 4 chapters to catch up on...), but that's about the only hard thing I have to do all week. I really should be studying now. The weather was so beautiful today, but instead of being outside playing frisbee like I should have been doing, I was good and stayed inside and read. It was too windy to read outside. Oh well. I think I'm gonna go drink a coke now. That'll keep me up late even if I'm not reading and I wanna go to sleep. Good stuff. ;-)

I'm famous!
So I'm really excited because my dinosaur comic was posted today!!! For all of you who don't know what dinosaur comics are, you're missing out. Head over to http://www.qwantz.com
right now and start checking them out. There's a new one almost everyday. And the coolest part is that it's the same frames everytime, the text is just changed, which makes it totally awesome. So one day I decided to make my own dinosaur comic based on this crazy dream I have (I actually thought of it when trying to think of a senior prank in high school, but I think I was the only one who really appreciated the idea). Then I sent it to the guy who runs the website and makes the real comics (who is officially on my cool list now), and he said he'd post it in the fan art section. woohoo! So without further ado, here is the link to my dinosaur comic. http://www.qwantz.com/fanart/frolicingisfun.png
I hope it totally rocks your socks off, and feel free to leave feedback on it here. Maybe I'll start doing comics more often.... Yay for me! :-D

it's beginning to look a lot like-- hey, wait a minute!
So despite the fact that it was freezing outside this morning, I decided to make my way to the gym. I would later not mind the cold. First of all, I had a great work out. I did a mile on the elliptical and then I did a bunch of leg weight machine thingies. So I was about to leave and I'm looking out the door and I'm like "oh crap it's raining and really hard." But then I looked closer. It didn't look so much like rain... it looked like snow! So I go outside and what do you know, IT WAS SNOWING!!! Greatest morning ever! So I casually walked back to my room enjoying the winter wonderland. I caught snowflakes on my toungue, it was sticking to my clothes, it was fabulous! I don't think it's going to stick, but even if it doesn't I still want it to keep snowing. It's so pretty. So hopefully this will signal a great day. woohoo!

The Final Analysis
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone may destory overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, the may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is all between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
--Mother Teresa of Calcutta

I wish this week were over already. I have the rough draft of my essay due tomorrow, the actual essay due Friday, and a Calculus test Thursday. And I don't know how to do calculus. It's evil. Sooooo yeah. My David is coming to see me this weekend! That makes me super happy. Next Monday is Valentines Day! I want chocolate!!! Yeah I'm being really spastic and avoiding writing my essay. But I really do want chocolate. Hehe. Last weekend was the WCF women's retreat. That was fun. It was near Gatlinberg, Tennessee, and it was supposed to take us only 4 hours to get there. Well, it took us 6. We kinda got lost when we were almost there. We missed the last turn (only because the directions didn't tell us to turn there) and ended up going up this long, curvy, dark, and scary mountain road for about 30 minutes. Then we got to the end. Yes. The end of the road. The cement stopped and the dirt began. There were some grave stones scattered about up there too. So we turned around. Really fast. And when we finally got good enough reception to call someone we found out where we went wrong. But it was fun. Kinda. Lol. And we made sock puppets! Mine is really cute. I forgot what I named her. But I guess I never really decided on a definite one. So if anyone wants to name my sock puppet feel free to. It's a girl, she has a red heart nose, wiggly eyes, a red bow, blue and purple hair, and christmas light earings (and some of the lights are hanging in her hair too). So there you go. The weather is has been really pretty since this weekend. It should be this way all the time! Well I guess I've spent enough time procrastinating. Ok lady I love you buh bye!

zippity doo da...
Today has been a really awesome day. I figured out how I can graduate in 4 years, which totally rocks. I actually understood stuff in calc recitation today. I had a really good lunch (and I know that sounds funny, but wait til you go to the dining hall one day and think, all this food looks like crap, but then find something and it turns out to be the best lunch ever). Then tonight I got to go "office space" (even though I haven't seen that movie yet, that how everyone who helped put it, but I do plan on seeing the movie) on an old copy machine. I took a bat to it and beat some of the guts out of it. It was lots of fun. And now I get to watch Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill (only semi-guilty pleasures). Yay for good days! I hope everyone else had one. If not I'll pass some of my happiness on to you. ;-)

"Roses are red, violets are blue / That's what they say, but it just isn't true / Roses are red, and apples are, too / But violets are violet, violets aren't blue / An orange is orange, but Greenland's not green / A pinky's not pink, so what does it mean? / To call something blue when it's not, we defile it / But what the heck, it's hard to rhyme violet." --Dot from the Animaniacs
My boyfriend gave me roses this weekend! And they're sooo pretty. So I think I'm gonna try to dry some of them. I tried this once with daisies and failed horribly. But I think this time I might just press the petals. It'll be fun.
So it was an icy wonderland this weekend. It was kind of fun actually. I ice skated to dinner. People were outside sliding around in laundry baskets and on food trays. I'm proud to say that I didn't fall and bust my butt any.
I just had my first bio test about an hour ago. It wasn't too bad. Everything was just really disorganized cause the tests were locked in an office and the professor couldn't get in, so we started late, and when we finally got them we didn't have all the pages and it was just a mess. But it finally worked out.
I've decided that a lot of guys at Tech are rude and have no manners. They're probably the nerdy ones that spend most of their time playing video games and are afraid of girls. Cause I was walking back to my room and I had to walk on these stepping stones. And the grass all around them was muddy. So a series of guys is coming from the opposite direction, and they totally just don't even pay attention and care and they all keep walking on the stepping stones while I'm forced out into the mud. And a lot of guys are always so pushy when it comes to get on and off the bus. I don't mean to sound biotchy or anything. Just I would think it was common courtesy or something. Whatever.
Perhaps I'll eat lunch or do homework now. I'm not feeling very productive. I waste too much time on this stupid computer. Why?! Someone please break me of my terrible habit!

Knock knock. Who's there?!
Whoever posted the comment about the ducks and the geese to my January 9th post, I would greatly appreciate it if you would identify yourself. Cause it says anonymous and I don't know who you are. And now you probably won't tell me just to annoy me. That's not very nice. So please tell me!!! Actually, for anyone who comments, it would be really great if you would sign you name or something, unless it's just blatently obvious who you are. So yeah. Thanks a bunches!

Holy frozen appendages Batman!
So it's totally freezing cold outside. And I have to go to Calculus in about 20 minutes. I would much rather stay inside all day and watch TV or read or something. But my room isn't much better, since the heater doesn't work!!!!!! Perhaps I'll move to a remote island where I can lounge on the beach all day. I'm finally getting over my cold. Perhaps I have passed it on to some other unfortunate soul. I apologize.
I have been receiving calls on my phone from numbers I do not know for about a week now. I have gotten 3 or 4 of them. It's quite odd. And I think they're all different numbers. One of them actually left me a message. See on my voicemail I say "Hey it's Jennifer, if you love me leave me a message." So apparently this person who I don't know found it appropriate to say "I love you, so call me back!" So, yes. Ummmm......... yeah.
I fell in love with myself again today. I was all bundled up in my pea coat with my fabulous new scarf and my lovely pink hat, and I thought to myself "well aren't I just the cutest thing." I don't think that's conceited or anything. I think everyone should love themself and think themself cute. Not too much of course though. It creates a healthy self image. I was also proud of myself for wanting to learn biology today. I would much rather take bio notes than go to Calculus. But alas. I should probably get ready to go now. I have to bundle up again. If I had the wardrobe, I would bundle up like that kid on "A Christmas Story." Ralphie's brother, the one who couldn't put his arms down. That would be fun for a while. I would go rolling down a hill. But I'm going to go learn about improper integrals now (because we all know that improper integrals are much more fun than proper integrals) ;-)

And now back to your regularly scheduled program
Well I'm back at the GT after a fabulous month break. I was really lazy and didn't do anything too exciting. Christmas was awesome. I got a digital camera and so now I wanna take pictures of everything I see. It's crazy. I did some shopping, hung out with friends and had some fun. We had a fire in our backyard. That was insane. It was from the neighbors thinking they completely put out the flame after burning leaves in the yard, but they didn't. It was 1:30 in the morning and we look out the window and we see flames. Luckily we have a large backyard and the fire was near the back and not close to the house at all. Anywho. Classes start tomorrow and I'm really liking my schedule. This is my slightly easier-bring up my gpa semester. I have a bad cold, which is a really sucky way to start out the semester. And my boyfriend David isn't coming back to GT. It's complicated, but he's going to school in our hometown to be a high school math teacher (yay for math!) and we're staying together. So it'll all be ok. So now a completely random thought I pondered while going to the drivethrough at the bank with my mom over the break: if it were possible to shrink people, I would want to be shrunk to the size of those tube thingies that you put your stuff in to send to the teller and ride in one of those. You would just shoot through that tube thingy. I think that would be so much fun :-)
